Installation Troubleshooting

First off, apologies for any issues with installing FxSound! We've got a few troubleshooting steps that we hope will help.

The following instructions are for Windows 10. Please note that Windows frequently updates their software, so this could become out of date!

And just a quick note... you don't have to have FxSound or DFX completely installed for these troubleshooting steps to work. Sometimes the driver for FxSound (DFX Speakers) are installed even if the installation process doesn't seem to complete successfully!

Windows 10

1) Right click the sound icon on your taskbar

If you don't see the sound icon, search "Sound Settings" in your Windows search bar.

2) Open Sound Settings

Another option if you don't see the sound icon

3) Click Manage sound devices

4) If 'FxSound Speakers' (renamed 'DFX Speakers' on versions 1.1.2.0 and earlier) is a disabled sound device, click and enable it

5) Once FxSound Speakers (or DFX Speakers on versions 1.1.2.0 or earlier) is enabled again, reinstall FxSound.
